Novara

Novara is a city of Piedmont, in north-west Italy, to the west of Milan. It is the capital city of the province of Novara. Founded in ancient times by Romans, Novara was the site of two important battles, the Battle of Novara (in 1513) in the War of the League of Cambrai and the Battle of Novara (in 1849) in the Italian Wars of Independence. It was also the birthplace of Johannes Campanus who was an Italian mathematician who published a Latin edition of Euclid's Elements and also wrote on astronomy.
